What is Denver Days?

Mayor Michael B. Hancock envisioned a city where neighbors not only knew their neighbors but as a result felt safer and more connected to the communities they call home.

Eight years ago the Mayor turned that vision into reality by creating Denver Days, a program during the first week of August that encourages neighbors to get to know their fellow neighbors by hosting block parties, picnics, and service projects with the focus on small, organic gatherings.

The 2021 Denver Days events will take place July 31st - August 8th.

This eliminates face-covering and distancing requirements and capacity limits for outdoor events. View Denver's current Public Health Order online (check back often for updates).

While COVID guidelines and plans for outdoor events are no longer required for Denver Days events, the Office of Special Events encourages organizers to maintain some COVID guidelines and plans measures to help instill confidence in event staff, volunteers and attendees as well as those in the surrounding community. We suggest event organizers to encourage those who are not yet vaccinated to continue to wear face masks and distance themselves from others, provide plentiful hand washing and sanitizing stations, and perform regular cleanings of common-use areas.

More guidance can be found on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the State of Colorado websites.

Event Permits

If you haven’t already secured your Park Picnic permit or Block Party permit please do so now. Deadline to register your event is July 16th.

Remember the City and County of Denver will waive your park picnic permit. Parks do fill up fast so make sure you have a few options in mind in your neighborhood if your first option isn’t available. Block party permits are also waived and Denver will provide free barricades to ensure your street is closed safely. We are limited with how many barricades we have available so get your block party permit today!
